Privacy Policy
The short version: We collect nothing. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking of any kind. Everything the app does happens on your own device. Your location, if you choose to share it, is used only on your phone to calculate sunset times — it is never sent anywhere.
Who we are
Messianic Jewish Calendar is a free app published by the Anointed Messianic Jewish Network, a small ministry. This policy explains, in plain English, how the app handles your information — which, happily, is very simple, because the app does not collect any.
What we collect
Nothing. The app:
- does not require or offer accounts, sign-ups, or logins;
- does not collect personal information of any kind;
- does not use analytics, tracking, or advertising services;
- does not show ads;
- does not transmit any of your data to us or to anyone else.
All calendar dates, holiday dates, Torah portion schedules, Shabbat times, and Hebrew birthday calculations are computed entirely on your device.
Location permission
If you grant the app location permission, your location is used for exactly one purpose: to calculate accurate local sunset-based times — Shabbat candle-lighting and havdalah — right on your device. Your location:
- is processed only on your device;
- is never transmitted off your device — not to us, and not to any third party;
- is never stored anywhere except locally on your device for the app's own use.
Location permission is optional. If you prefer not to grant it, the app uses Jerusalem times by default, and you can keep it that way.
Notifications
The optional Shabbat candle-lighting reminders and holiday alerts are local notifications, scheduled by the app on your own device. No push-notification service or external server is involved, and you can turn them off at any time in the app or in your device settings.
The "Donate" / "Support this ministry" link
The app contains links to our Ko-fi page, which opens in your web browser. Ko-fi is a third-party website with its own privacy policy and terms; anything you do there (such as making a voluntary donation) is governed by Ko-fi's policies, not this one. The app itself never sees or receives any information about your visit to Ko-fi. Donating is entirely optional and does not unlock or change anything in the app — every feature is free for everyone.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages. Because we collect no data from anyone, we collect no data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the app handles information, we will update this policy and the effective date above. Given the app's design — everything on-device, nothing collected — we do not expect that to change.
